My last 60P

Filed under: office agenda — Catherine Lorin @ 3:55 am

I was sent to an errand yesterday and i drove 160 kilometers all in all. It was a very long day. I never thought i could make it there alone. I was driving the whole day and i stopped in between to say hi to old clients, engaged in some time-consuming chit-chat of course. The small talks delayed my travel by the way. So anyway, as i nearly finished my tasks, i got a call from the country manager asking me to send a report ASAP.

First reaction: Drive faster and get back to Davao, find a wi-fi hotspot establishment.

I did, never tried a hundred km/hr drive in my history of driving. So i got back in Davao much earlier than i estimated and went to this famous coffee shop.

I checked my wallet and found out i only have 60 pesos left, i forgot to drop by the bank. I told myself i really have to order something inside this famous coffee shop to save face, so i decided i should at least order one cup of hot chocolate. I took my laptop and put three pieces of 20 peso bill in my pocket and started my way inside. Before i stepped in the etrance, i got a call again reminding me how urgent the report was. So i checked for an outlet, turned the laptop on and ordered a cup of hot chocolate.

I went thru my files immediately without minding how careless i must have looked rushing with my urgent errand… I went to Outlook, attached the report, only to find out my message can’t pass thru. Just when i knew that the network has a problem, my hot chocolate arrived. So i asked the waiter to help me solve the network problem instead and retried my luck. He told me click the refresh button. I did.

Another call, i was flaring up already.. What’s weird was my settings showed im connected to the network but its just not sending. Tried it in yahoo and it showed internet explorer canot display the webpage.. I had it. So by the way, i had a sip of the hot chocolate and prepared to get out of there. Before i even ordered the drink, i didn’t bother to ask how much is the cost, so i looked for the waiter, told him i really can’t connect, asked for my bill, told him it better be 60 pesos because i didn’t have a peso more, handed him the three 20 peso bill from my pocket my jeans was too tight i hardly pulled the bills, to the left — exit.
